Tricycle has launched VAAST as a side project to harness our passion for exploring the outdoors and put our product development skills to the commercial test.
The Tricycle team have been involved in this project from the very initial ideation, through concept development, brand development, engineering development and testing then through the learnings of building an overseas supply chain and establishing quality systems.

Born from necessity
After a few incidents with a punctured water jerry and a soaked sleeping bag, the team at VAAST decided to change the way we carry water to camp, along 4WD tracks or during overland expeditions.

The Vaast products evolved quickly through practical testing at the Trike studio and real world field testing. A commitment to testing and product improvement pushed the design outcome to meet lifestyle needs.
DESIGN LANGUAGE & BRANDING

Visualising adventure
The product is deliberately bold in its appearance. It’s designed to create intrigue, inspire and excite through a bold primary colour. Key touch points are highlighted to assist with understanding product use at a glance. Strong industrial forms and textures are used to support rugged use of the product.
PRODUCTION

Building a production capability
Production included international sourcing, vetting suppliers and establishment of quality control procedures. This included development of production jigs, fixtures and testing apparatus.
