Launch partners
Pioneers in personalized sound, Nura offers advanced audio products that tailor themselves to each individual’s hearing for an unparalleled listening experience.
Trike is a proud design partner of Nura, one of Australia’s most exciting consumer technology brands.
Our team worked with Nura through their first product development journey, and Australia’s largest Kickstarter campaign (at the time). The Nuraphone was a flagship product that involved developing the fitment technology, the visual style and setting up the manufacturing suppliers. The collaboration delivered a product experience that reflects the unique and exceptional quality audio experience Nura’s technology delivers.
Design Language

Unique design language
Nura dreamt of a seamless, beautiful set of headphones that would deliver truly world-beating performance.
This led our team to use materials and processes that visually communicate Nura’s position as a maker of premium headphones.
“We are proud to be working with a group of people that don’t shy away from the challenge and work relentlessly to deliver a product of exceptional quality.”

ERGONOMICS & PROTOTYPE TESTING
—
Ergonomic challenge
Nura’s team always had a challenging vision: to develop a pair of headphones that was not just worn in-ear or on-ear, but both. For the Nura technology to function properly, the in-ear bud has to seal off the ear canal.
Developing a product that fits to human form was not easy. The solutions were created using hands on model making and craft techniques, blended with new digitisation and computer modeling tools.
Ear cups, silicone springs and headband designs were fabricated using both Nura’s and Trike’s in-house rapid prototyping facilities.
To deliver on comfort, prototype headsets were tested with users hundreds of times.
CONSIDERED MATERIALS & MANUFACTURING
—
Engineering comfort
Unique performance and ergonomics requirements created complex engineering challenges. These were solved through a series of both adjustable and flexing elements in the design, to create a comfortable fit and seal across the user population.
The design was optimised through materials and manufacturing research, FEA analysis and thorough testing of prototypes and early production samples.
